We take your security seriously, which means we have to authenticate your identity before you send money or change any account information. We want to make sure that it's actually you trying to access your money!
Usually, you are able to use your device's fingerprint or FaceID biometric features to verify your identity. If your device doesn't have biometric capabilities or if your device security isn’t working, we’ll ask you to enter your 4-digit Step App Passcode to perform sensitive actions like sending money or changing account information.
You'll be asked to set up this passcode during the sign-up or log-in process. Be sure to pick a code you'll remember!
What if I forget my code?
If you're logged into the app and have forgotten your passcode, don't worry! Simply log out of the app and log back in again. Once you've logged in successfully, you'll be prompted to reset your app passcode.
