Wondering why your Step Card is getting declined at an ATM? Could be because you've hit your withdrawal limit. Here's what you need to keep in mind before heading to the ATM:
You can only withdraw up to the balance in your account
You can withdraw a maximum of $250 each 24 hours
You can withdraw a maximum of $1,000 each 30 days
You can make a total of 10 ATM withdrawals each 30 days
You can withdraw up to $250 every 24 hours. This doesn’t mean every day! Every 24 hours means that if you withdraw $250 at 9 AM on Thursday, you will only be able to withdraw $250 more at 9:01 AM on Friday.
You can withdraw up to $1,000 every 30 days. That means that if you withdraw $250 each day on October 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th, you will not be able to withdraw any more money from the ATM until October 31st.
You can withdraw from an ATM 10 times every 30 days. This does not mean every month. Here is an example with three withdrawals:
Each withdrawal is represented by a symbol and color, the checkmark represents when the 30 day period expires.
Let's say you make a withdrawal on August 1st, then you make 9 more withdrawals in the days after. That means that on September 1st you can make another withdrawal. You start counting 30 days from the day of the withdrawal.
We know it is tricky to keep track of all of the withdrawals, so here is a trick to see how many you have left:
Go back 30 days in your transaction history
Count the ATM withdrawals between that day and today
If there are less than 10, totalling less than $1,000 you can withdraw with no issues!
